Leonbergers are graceful, beautiful, loving, sometimes clumsy, funny and lazy dogs. There are many stages a Leo goes through before reaching adulthood, and much work to do along the way. Just as there are many different types of Leo owners, there are many different types of Leos. You will find that your Leo "is" a Leo (as far as general behavior and temperament is concerned), but can and will have his or her own unique set of "extras" that make each one unique.
Careful guidance, training and lots of patience will see your cute, dorky, cuddly little teddy bear puppy develop into a wonderful companion. Always keep in mind that your fuzzy little 20-30 lb puppy will grow to be over 100 lbs (very likely well over).
Leos are unique dogs, but are still dogs nonetheless. Being a giant breed, all Leos have nutrition requirements that are unique to large dogs. As with any dog there are also things to watch out for regarding their health.
